Protecta Tips: The Block Series - Kitchen Week

Each week on The Block, contestants face the same challenges as any busy residential construction site: time pressure, tight access, messy conditions and protecting finishes from damage.

In our Protecta Tips: The Block Series, we break down how temporary protection is being used on-site, offering practical advice for tradies, site managers and contractors working on new builds, renovations and fit-out projects.

Check back weekly as we add tips and insights as the teams make progress and rooms are revealed.

Protecta Tips: Kitchen Week

Kitchen Week on The Block is always one of the most high-pressure milestones in the competition, and this season was no exception. Contestants faced a chaotic schedule, solving design issues and pushing to get their kitchens over the line in time for judging.

While the builds delivered plenty of drama, Protecta solutions provided drama-free temporary protection, keeping finishes safe so contestants could focus on delivering a winning kitchen.

Protecta Shield - Precision Fit for Kitchen Surfaces

  • Protecta Shield (grey): at 1.2 metres wide, it is the ideal width to fit between cupboards and island benches, providing quick coverage in those busy high-use zones.
  • Protecta Shield XTRA (green): At 1.5 metres wide, it can cover a benchtop and the front of kitchen cabinets. It is also quick and easy to protect finished floors and other furniture. A versatile option that delivered both precision fit and reliable strength.

Protecta Flute - Quick Floor Protection

Finished floors needed extra attention this week. Protecta Flute offered fast, reliable protection, keeping surfaces safe from tools, traffic, and potential damage as the pressure mounted on site.

ZipWall® - Dust Containment for Finished Areas

With multiple trades working at once, dust management was also critical. ZipWall® systems were used to isolate finished areas, keeping kitchens clean and ready for judging while work continued elsewhere in the house.
